Erasure Live Concert at the 9:30 Club in Washington DC, Part 2

As promised, here's more Erasure live show photos, again taken at Tuesday night's concert at the 9:30 Club in Washington, DC. I'll have more tomorrow!

After the first couple of songs, Andy Bell removed his angel wings and vest.

Vince Clarke performed the rap part of "Rapture" (a Blondie cover) whilst talking into this cool brass phone.

More to come...

Erasure Live Concert at the 9:30 Club in Washington DC, Part 1

A month after it was originally scheduled, the Erasure show at the 9:30 club in DC finally happened. It was certainly worth the wait! With an impressive enchanted forest set, complete with HUGE moving trees, several interesting costume changes, and a good mix of Erasure songs from all eras of their extensive career, it was the best show I've seen in quite awhile. As a nice surprise, they actually allowed cameras in... excepting "professional" cameras, which they defined as cameras with changable lenses. So I was able to get my Sony DSC-717 in for some action. All told, I got more than 100 pictures, and I'll share the best of them with you, my loyal fans and readers. I'll be writing more on this concert and posting pics throughout the week, so keep checking back. For now, I'll leave you with the set list and pictures of the first costumes used in the show, Vince Clarke in a "Biggles"-style airman outfit with a satellite dish on his head, and Andy Bell as an angel in white denim. Enjoy!

The set list:
(Asterisk * indicates my personal favourites)
  1. No Doubt
  2. Hideaway
  3. Knocking on Your Door *
  4. Breathe
  5. Ship of Fools
  6. Drama *
  7. All This Time Still Falling
  8. Stop!
  9. Rapture
  10. Ave Maria
  11. Breath of Life
  12. A Little Respect
  13. I Broke It All In Two
  14. Chains of Love
  15. Chorus *
  16. I Love To Hate You *
  17. Blue Savannah
  18. Victim of Love
  19. Oh, L'Amour
  20. I Bet You're Mad at Me (encore)
  21. Sometimes (encore)

True Maddy Stories

Okay, first thing' first here... This entry is completely true. It is not made up, exaggerated, or anything of the sort. What's more, both things below happened on the very same day!

Saturday, June 4th, 2005:

The bushes out front have been looking a bit shaggy lately, so we bought a Black & Decker electric hedge trimmer. Not a bad idea, but then Madeline decides to try it out and within minutes she's used the thing to cut through its own power cord! D'oh!

Later that same day...

I had an extra Sony flat screen PC monitor which I haven't used for awhile, and decided to let Madeline use it instead. Imagine my surprise when she told me that it didn't seem to be working. When I came to examine it, it turned out that she didn't have it plugged in! Maybe she thought that it ran on love or cosmic vapour or something...
