Lyrics

[Although there are indeed vocals to this song, they are just sounds and as such there are no proper lyrics.  After the track has ended, both Simon and Julian say "Pigs!" quite loudly.  Hmm...]

Trivia

- The opening passage is a reversed recording of the chant from Chenko.

- The title is intended to be A and R backwards.  Rather ironically, Julian Close would become an A and R man himself after leaving Red Box.

Commentary

"Ach du leiber!  I've said that Red Box is the only band I know of never to have recorded a bad or mediocre song.  I stand by that statement.  Still, certain songs are, certainly, favourites moreso than others.  And then there's RNA.  The vocals themselves are very good, and I love the way Simon's voice sounds on this song.  But it's kept well off my favourites list by the over-simplicity of its structure--most of the song is  the reversed Chenko chant played again and again.  The whole thing sounds like a bit of recording-studio improvisation, which in all likelihood is exactly what it was.  If you like the basic ideas found here but want a better example of them, try Speeches."
