AWW... YOU BROKE IT!

Something's not right, you say?  We'll keep this simple.  Choose which of the five choices below best describes your problem.  Oh, and if you just need general help getting around, try Starmap instead.

I. 404 Not Found errors

The software we use to run Starblind generally finds and eliminates 404 errors automatically.  But nothing is ever perfect, and if you find one, feel free to write us and let us know.  Please include the URL of the page or file which wasn't found.

II. Pop-Up ads

Andrew Lenahan and Starblind are strongly against the use of pop-ups, pop-unders, interstatials, and other intrusive and annoying forms of internet advertising.  We would never use them on Starblind.com, and would sooner take the entire site down than resort to such methods.  However, keep in mind that... 
1). We have no control over the rest of the web.  Some sites we link to may use pop-ups or other junk.  Try a pop-up blocker to get rid of them.
2). The worst type of advertising so far, spyware, can put pop-up ads over any website, including Starblind.  If you suspect that you may have spyware installed, our advice is to get rid of it immediately, with Ad-Aware or a similar program.

III. Contact form not working

If the contact form doesn't seem to work, the most likely reason is that your browser or proxy blocks the HTTP "referrer" header.  How to fix this is beyond the scope of this document, but an easy work around is to just send your message directly to alenahan@starblind .com instead.

IV. No answer after contacting

So, you wrote to us a week or two ago, and haven't heard back from us, huh?  In order or likelihood...
1). Filtered Out
We run a fairly complex set of spam filters here at Starblind.  Every so often a real message will get filtered out by accident.
2). Unreadable / Foreign Language
A surprisingly large amount of email is totally unintelligible.  Unfortunately, we simply can't reply to non-English emails at this time.  The same goes for messages written in English that make no sense at all.
3). Too Annoying
We generally won't bother to reply to anything with a lot of cursing, or kiddy rap slang.  That stuff can trigger the filters, too.
The solution to all of the above is to reword your message and send it again!

V. General help / Misc. / Other

Generally, the best thing to do is contact us with a good description of the problem and we'll do our best to help you.  However, before writing please note the following...
1). Starblind-specific problems only
Sorry, we can't solve general PC or internet problems.
2). Try checking the technical section of the FAQ before writing in.
3). Starblind has a simple design philosophy, and we deliberately avoid using technologies such as Java and Javascript except when absolutely necessary.  Therefore, Starblind should be viewable on almost any browser.  However, IE versions before 3.0, Netscape versions before 4.0, Lynx, and Opera are not officially supported.  Please do not write to us to report problems with these browsers.
