ANDREW LENAHAN'S
STARBLIND
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
MAY THIRTEENTH 2002

PART
ONE :
THE
BASICS

What does "Starblind" mean?

 - Starblind - Star" blind` - (noun)
a. Temporary condition of "seeing stars", as when recovering from a punch.
b. Condition of elation and excitement resulting from exposure to Andrew Lenahan and his works.

What purpose does Starblind serve?

Starblind has several primary purposes:
1).  To serve as a central "official" source of information about Andrew Lenahan and his works.
2).  To make Andrew Lenahan's work conveniently available to the public for free or at the lowest possible monetary cost.
3).  To publish rarities, early works, alternate versions, et cetera, which would otherwise not be available whatsoever.

Who is Andrew Lenahan?

On the most basic and superficial level, Andrew Lenahan is a writer, actor, artist, musician, model, poet, and satirist based in Philadelphia, USA.  For a truer and more complete answer, explore Starblind

Is Andrew Lenahan dead?

"No, I'm not." --Andrew Lenahan

PART
TWO :
THE
ARTWORK

Who are the Tweenies?

The Tweenies is an excellent BBC children's television show which is not shown in the United States.  It is wildly popular in the UK and most of the rest of the world.  One could probably most easily compare it to a more sophisticated version of the Teletubbies.  For more information, we recommend Tweenieland and the official BBC Tweenies website.

PART
THREE :
THE
MUSIC AND RECORDINGS

What sort of music is the "Interlocutor" album?  Is it like "Andrew Lenahan's Broadcast" or its theme music?

"'Interlocutor' is very non-traditional music both in concept and method of creation, and does not fit easily into established genres.  So, basically, it's weirdo intellectualist stuff for the pretentious types to buy and say they like and not listen to.  Or even remove from the wrapping.  So just leave it on the coffee table and watch party guests walk by and say 'Ooo!'"  -- Andrew Lenahan

"Interlocutor" is all original, new material, and does not include the "Wheels on the Bus" song or any of the other material from "Broadcast."

Will there ever be a "Broadcast" best-of collection, or a box set of every episode, or streaming media/MP3 of the full episodes or clips?

The material from Broadcast will eventually be released in one form or another.  individual CDs of all the episodes are probably the most likely to happen, and would hopefully please just about everyone.  A box set (with some sort of special packaging) is another distinct possibility.  A best-of sort of thing is possible, but towards the less-likely end of the spectrum.  MP3 and streaming media are also unlikely because the sound quality would suffer.

Will a CD of the "Death Live" show ever be released?  I've heard there is a bootleg of it or something.

This is another one for the "probably not" bin.  A recording does exist, but the sound quality is absolutely terrible, sounding as though it was recorded on an answering-machine-type micro cassette, perhaps because it was.  Even if we worked some studio magic and fixed it somewhat, it wouldn't be anything we could feel confident about releasing to the public for money.

If you do manage to find a cheap copy in Philadelphia, Harrisburg, or New York, you get what you pay for.  But you probably won't want to listen to it all the way through.

FIVE :
FAN STUFF
&
MISCELLANY

I'm a "Broadcast Buddy"... do I have to re-apply to be in the ALFC?

Yes.  ALFC is a completely separate organisation from the defunct Broadcast Buddies mailing list.  Membership is free, so there is no reason not to want to re-apply.
