Gumby on the Highway in Virginia
When Madeline and I were driving in Virginia this weekend, we passed a hiker walking along the side of the road. He had a huge green backpack which stood taller than his head, and his back (with the pack) was facing toward us as we approached.
No big deal, right? Well, Madeline points out that when she first saw him, she thought it was Gumby walking on the side of the road. Not a guy in a Gumby outfit, but a real, live, seven-foot-tall Gumby. On Route 15. That girl never ceases to amaze me.

Oh...Now C'mon! I didn't say one way or another if I thought it was actually Gumby or a person in a "Gumby" suit. Now...I know there isn't a real life Gumby out there...so in my defense here...I thought it was a person in a "Gumby" suit! :-) I don't believe in Gumby. I believe in Faeries...and Ghosts...and possibly some incarnations of evil...but I don't think Gumby falls into any of those categories...well...maybe the evil bit. :-D
